The name was chosen deliberately. A good harbour isn’t exciting. It’s where ships go to be safe, to be repaired and to wait out the weather. Good Harbour Hosting wants to be that for small websites: a calm, dependable place where things simply work.

In practice, “boring” means a few very specific things:

• Websites that load quickly and stay online.
• Backups that exist, and that actually restore when they’re needed.
• Updates and security patches applied before anyone has to ask.
• Support from people who answer in plain language, not ticket numbers.

A good harbour isn’t exciting. That’s exactly why ships keep coming back to it.

Where the project stands

Good Harbour Hosting is getting a website of its own. The goal is clarity: what the service includes, what it costs, and how to reach a human being when something needs attention. We’re building it the same way as the service itself. Nothing flashy, everything dependable.

We’ll post an update here when the new site goes live. If you’re an existing customer, nothing changes for you in the meantime, which is, of course, the point.
